Sun in fog

For the last several days Badger put up a valiant fight for his life.

We have said a lot of prayers, and done a lot of hand wringing, but we lost dear little Badger yesterday to an ugly virus that ravaged his small body.

His exuberance, tenderness, joy and sweetness is sorely missed.
Our hearts are broken.

A friend told me about a children’s book called Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant.
It helps me to visualize Badger in heaven, joyfully running through all the beautiful green fields he could ever wish for, children playing with him all the day long, comfy cloud pillows when he needs a nap, and being loved forever and ever.

That brings me some solace right now.
We love you dear pup. You are sorely missed.

Oh Perry. I am so sorry 🙁 It is so painful.
Maybe one day this would be useful? A piece I wrote for Dog Fancy called “Wading Through Grief”

So much love being sent your way at this time of such sorrow. My prayers will be with you.
